川普說，他成為美國總統，要台灣把軍費支出提高到 GDP的5%，同時也要求歐洲北約國家提高到4%，這是代表美國將結束世界警察時代，進入世界軍火商時代。

台灣今年的軍費支出已超過6000億台幣，占GDP的2.5%，若要提高到5%，軍費支出將擴大到12000億台幣以上，達政府總支出的45%，也就是政府每支出一元，就有將近一半是用在軍費上，這絕對是台灣財政無法負擔的沉重壓力，甚至說台灣財政將要破產，亦不為過。

所以，一旦川普成為美國總統，台灣人民將面對這項挑戰。賴清德的台獨政府為了抗中保台，必得想方設法滿足川普需求，但軍費支出擴大，必然排擠掉其他，如經濟建設、社會福利、公共衛生等支出，將使台灣社會落入捉襟見肘的困境。

財政壓力、經濟壓力、生活壓力，將迫使台灣人民必須思考兩岸問題的解決，要維持現狀已不可能，要拖延統一，搞實質台獨也不可能，川普將逼得台灣人民必須在統獨上做出抉擇。
